Special Outreaches - Fill The Truck Events

Throughout the year, organizations such as companies, schools, churches, and community groups host events to collect items for those in need, known as "Fill the Truck" events. During these events, CSO provides a truck and volunteers to collect and distribute donated items to individuals with immediate needs. The initiative begins with a simple idea, such as the toy drive for children that started over ten years ago. Other examples of these drives include a winter mitten and glove drive, back-to-school supplies in August, as well as drives for blankets, sleeping bags, and provisions or gifts for various holidays. Commonly collected items include clean, gently used clothing, coats, footwear, small household furnishings, and essential toiletries, all of which are distributed to those in need. Additionally, youth groups and seniors regularly craft mats from milk bags, which are then distributed weekly to individuals living outdoors.
